Construction Technology Program Teaching Goals and Objectives

Purposes


The aim of the Construction Technology program is to train Construction Technicians who will work in public institutions and organizations and the private sector, who are equipped with theoretical knowledge and practical skills and who can benefit from these skills at the highest level. The Construction Technology program offers educational services designed to provide students with contemporary teaching methods and skills in accordance with the requirements of the information age and professional life. Additionally, graduates of this program can transfer to the Civil Engineering and Architecture departments of universities, provided that they pass the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS).

Goals


In the construction technology program, which has a training period of 2 years, the student got to know the elements used in buildings, learned the types of installations in buildings, was knowledgeable about technical drawings, had knowledge of statics, building statics and strength of objects, was knowledgeable about air conditioning in buildings, and had knowledge of all kinds of building materials to be used in construction. Having knowledge and skills about the construction of suitable, solid, stable and earthquake-resistant structures, having knowledge about construction site organization, gaining knowledge and skills in quantity surveying, surveying and progress surveying, drawing (autocad) and static drawings using computer programs. -Able to make reinforced concrete calculations, perform experiments on soil mechanics, building materials, concrete and asphalt materials, have acquired basic knowledge and skills regarding steel structures, have knowledge about the types and causes of damage in existing buildings and the reinforcement of these buildings, building inspection and contemporary construction. They are trained as individuals who have acquired basic knowledge and skills regarding technical techniques, have basic knowledge of professional practices and zoning legislation, and have the mental and physical competence to fulfill their duties at any time and under any condition.
