Architectural Restoration Program Teaching Goals and Objectives

Purposes


The aim of the Architectural Restoration Program is to train qualified restoration technicians who follow contemporary developments in their field, are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills, can meet the demands of the business world, understand the spirit of teamwork, can express themselves in writing and verbally, and can carry out their work within the framework of professional and ethical responsibilities.

Goals


Program Educational Objective-1

Can draw restoration and restitution projects by surveying architectural works,

 

Program Educational Objective-2

Can detect damages and causes of deterioration in traditional buildings, can explain repair and protection methods of portable and immovable objects,

 

Program Educational Objective-3

Knows the functions, forms, facades and interior features of traditional building types, construction systems/building technologies, usage areas of building elements and materials, and application techniques.

 

Program Educational Objective-4

Can use technical drawing or computer-aided drawing and modeling programs that he will use in his professional field.

 

Program Educational Goal-5

By conducting archive scanning and research, interpreting the data obtained, turning it into reports and presentations using basic Office programs, and presenting it through written and verbal communication.

 

Program Educational Goal-6

He identifies problems in the work environment, interprets them with an analytical and critical approach, develops solution suggestions, evaluates other projects by interpreting them on his own, and supports the development of his subordinates.

 

Program Educational Goal-7

Knows the legal legislation regarding the protection and restoration of historical and cultural buildings, institutions responsible for the protection and repair of historical buildings, tender, technical specifications, quantity surveying, estimation and progress payment.

 

Program Educational Goal-8

Can identify the forms and techniques of decorations made with various materials in traditional buildings and draw the decorations by interpreting their symbolic meanings.
